This policy covers this website and the applications we publish.

We collect no information that identifies you

There are no accounts and no sign-in. We do not ask for or receive your name, email address, postal address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location. We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not work with advertising networks, and we do not track you across other applications or websites. We do not sell information about you, and we do not share it for advertising.

Two narrow exceptions exist. Both are described below, and neither one tells us who you are.

Diagnostics and performance data

Our applications report errors, performance measurements, and basic usage counts to a third-party monitoring service. We use this to find defects, to understand where the software is slow, and to fix both. The service is configured so that it does not collect personal information and discards IP addresses rather than storing them, and the events are held in the United States.

Events are keyed to a random installation identifier. That identifier is not linked to your name, your email address, or your Apple Account, and we have no way to resolve it to a person.

Separately, if you have turned on sharing analytics and diagnostics with developers in your device settings, Apple may send us crash and performance reports. Those arrive from Apple already aggregated. We receive them rather than gather them, and they are not tied to your identity.

This website

This site sets no cookies, loads no third-party resources, and runs no analytics or tracking of any kind. Our hosting provider records standard request information, including IP addresses, to keep the site available and to protect it from abuse. Those logs are held by the provider on its own schedule and we do not use them for anything else.

How we use information

Diagnostic and performance data is used for one purpose, which is keeping the software working properly. We use it to reproduce crashes, to measure performance, and to decide what to fix. We do not use it to build a profile of you, to make decisions about you, or to advertise to you.

How information is shared

We do not sell or rent information, and we do not share it for advertising. The only parties that handle any of the data described here are the service providers described below, acting on our instructions in order to run the software. We would also disclose information where the law required it, though there is very little to disclose.

Service providers

We rely on Apple to distribute our applications and to process any purchases made through the App Store. Purchases are validated on your device, and nothing about a purchase is transmitted to us. Information Apple handles in that role is subject to Apple's own privacy policy rather than this one.

We also use a third-party error and performance monitoring service, and a third-party provider that hosts this website. Both handle data only as described above.

Data retention

Diagnostic and performance events are retained for 30 days and are then deleted automatically. Website request logs are held by our hosting provider on its own schedule. We hold nothing else, because there is nothing else to hold.

Children

Our applications are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Because there are no accounts and nothing we hold is connected to a person, there is no profile belonging to a child for us to find or to delete.

Your choices

We cannot show you a copy of your data, and we cannot delete it on request, because we have no way to tell which data is yours. The diagnostic events described above are keyed to a random installation identifier with nothing attached to it. There is no lookup we could run and no identity we could verify. We would rather say that plainly than offer a request process that would fail the first time anyone used it.

The controls that do work are on your device. Turning off sharing analytics and diagnostics with developers, in your device settings, stops the reports Apple sends us. Deleting an application stops it reporting anything further. There is no in-application setting that switches off the monitoring described above.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page. Where a change affects how information is handled, this page is updated before that change reaches you, not after.
